I'm Phillip Gessert, and I'm a graphic designer in Amarillo, Texas.
I love book design and visual identityin particular. So if you've got a need for a crisp book cover or a tidy logo, just give me a holler!
The best way to reach me is by email, but you can phone me if you prefer. My number is 806‑553‑0111.
BOOK DESIGN
For book design work, I like to provide one design for a full wraparound, as well as typographical layout for the book’s interior. Each of these include one major revision before we’d have to readdress project scope.
Upon completion and approval, I provide print-ready PDFs for the cover and for the interior. And am glad to provide cover images and files suitable for CreateSpace, Kindle and the like. I typically give license to use finished designs for whichever formats we discuss in advance, as well as for marketing materials which promote them.
Every project is unique, of course—and I am pretty flexible.
VISUAL ID
For visual ID projects, I typically include up to three logo versions, presented in sequence. This means that I present my very best solution first—but if it is up a wrong tree, we can go back to the drawing board twice before we’d have to readdress project scope.
The final, chosen logo is provided as PDF vector art in color and in black (where black makes sense).
I then create a short sheet of loose branding guidelines, this covers suggested fonts, colors and logo usage. This is also provided as PDF.
Finally, I design a small stationery set—business card, envelope and letterhead—as a good, first practical application of the new brand. These are provided as print-ready PDF.
Of course, different projects carry different needs, some things here may occasionally need to be swapped out for something else—or omitted entirely. But this is a pretty good baseline for what to expect.
AND
And, of course, I am ever interested to hear about other design projects I may be a good fit for. I’ve done a fair bit of direct mail work, for instance. So if my style suits you, and you think we can make something awesome together, just let me know.
My contact info is on the left.
I should mention, though, that my best work is in print—so I may not always be a great fit for web work.
